Maddie King is a writer and filmmaker based in Portland, Maine. As a recent graduate of the Salt Institute, she gravitates towards films that challenge the boundaries between fiction and documentary. Her first documentary short, "Solnin," was featured in WMHT’s TVFILM Season 10 and her second, "Kazkar," was selected for the Maine International Film Festival. Currently, she works as an archival research assistant for a feature-length documentary and is a judge for NYC Midnight’s writing competition. Her micro-fiction has appeared in such publications as “HOOT Review,” “Fleas on the Dog,” and “Brilliant Flash Fiction.” She once had a dream about setting up a palmistry practice by a lake. It didn’t impact the course of her life, but she sometimes likes to think of a version in which it had.
